1. Post-indulgent weekend brunch: salad at Parlor Steakhouse.

    After eating a lot of fried stuff on Saturday (it was an accident!) and short ribs on Sunday, it seemed to me I should probably diet a bit this week. So, Monday started with a fantastic salad at Parlor Steakhouse. Topped with perfectly grilled salmon, the Parlor salad was exactly what I was looking for: I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely light meal.

     

  2. J and I have been to Parlor Steakhouse for dinner, but never for brunch. Yesterday we were walking by on our way to another brunch joint in the area, but I’m happy to report we got sidetracked by Parlor’s brunch menu.

    I had the breakfast plate, but they were nice enough to substitute veggies for the choice of meat. I chose Brussels sprouts (generally, J thinks they smell like feet for some reason. I love them.), which were deliciously buttery with cheese sprinkled on top. With the over-easy eggs and potatoes, this made for a wonderful brunch that I’d definitely return to eat.
